Dear Dr Clarke,

My apologies for not replying sooner, life as I am sure you are aware, is rather busy at the moment.

With reference to your request, I have been in touch with Ivan and he has passed on details of the incident as well as some correspondence with yourself to give me an idea of the run of events.

I have been all through our records and files and have not been able to uncover any fresh information. The only mention that I could find was the passage from the Squadron diary which you already have. Sadly, we do not have any log books from that era in our archives.

I am sorry that I have been unable to help you any further but if anything should come up during my research, I will of course let you know.
